After fifty years, with the widespread adoption of the Internet, the virtual world and the real world began to run in parallel. However, this development also brought side effects. People who had been immersed in the online world for long periods started exhibiting symptoms of a condition called Reality-Virtual Confusion Irritability Syndrome (RVCIS). Those afflicted with RVCIS became unable to distinguish between virtual and real life. During episodes, they lost the ability to communicate normally with others in reality. Even outside of episodes, they became increasingly radical, leading to frequent cases of violence, self-harm, and suicide. Dissatisfied with the restrictions of the real world compared to the limitless possibilities of the virtual world, many of these individuals began openly opposing the government and legal system. It took only a few years for this condition to spread from isolated cases to a large-scale outbreak, throwing society into turmoil.
During this period, a New Liberty Party emerged. The party’s leader was the first documented case of RVCIS. A publicly exposed the government’s persecution of him and declared himself a “New Human,” arguing that RVCIS was not a disorder but rather an essential step in human evolution—from the physical world into the virtual world. He claimed that New Humans possessed superior healing abilities and greater tolerance for virtual reality. His team even developed a panel-based communication system designed specifically for New Humans.
The New Liberty Party quickly gained widespread support. Eventually, the old government collapsed, and a new government was established under the party’s rule. To facilitate human “evolution,” the New Liberty Party decided to rebuild the world to accommodate the needs of New Humans. As a result, the New World gradually expanded outward from the New Liberty Party’s center. To accelerate the transformation, they developed machines that destroyed remnants of the Old World and rebuilt them. One of the machine they invented called “NEW AGE”, which was deployed at newly reconstructed sites.
At each reconstruction point, former citizens of the Old World were subjected to a “training” process. Only those who successfully evolved into New Humans were allowed to enter and live in the New World. Those who failed or refused to comply were exiled.
However, among the exiled and those who opposed the New Liberty Party, a resistance organization called the “Guardians” (THE GUARD) was formed. Their mission was to sabotage the New World and resist its expansion, striving to reclaim the remnants of the Old World.

很快新自由党得到了越来越多的人支持，最终旧政府倒下，新政府成立，由新自由党管理。为了顺应人类的“进化”，新自由党决定重建所有空间，以供新人类生活。因此，新世界逐渐由新自由党的中心向四周扩散，他们发明机器去摧毁旧世界的机器、重建新世界，同时还发明了一个机器叫做“NEW AGE”。每到一个新的重建点时，当地的本旧世界公民会在此中被“训练”，只有成为新人类才允许进入新世界生存，否则会被放逐。而这些被放逐的和不满新自由党的旧人类则成立一个叫做保卫者协会的组织“THE GUARD”，以破坏新世界的企图。
